On October 12, 2002 over 300 offroad enthusiasts participated in the 4th annual Lovin' Livingston Trail Cleanup. Over 13,000 pounds of metal was recycled, and 8,000 pounds of trash was disposed of. In the picture below you can see the 4 large dumpsters filled beyond capacity.

Over 200 tires were also collected, and Trail Keepers paid the county the tire disposal fees.

In addition to the normal assortment of tires, construction debris, mattresses, clothes, and appliances, this year there was a drastic increase in the number of burnt vehicles:

Included in the many cars removed from the woods was a 2001 Volvo station wagon:

Lee Crafton, the founder of the Livingston Cleanup coordinated local resources and sponsors for the event, and the Trail Keepers Foundation provided the insurance, drinks, trash bags and free gloves for the volunteers. Below, from the left, Donna Adams, Chad Adams and Donna Kepf run the event.

The Trail Keepers also provided over $1,000 in prize money for the "Tickets for Trash" program. Twenty-two teams of up to 10 people competed to pick up the most trash to win cash and prizes. For the second year in a row, the K&I Fourwheelers from Louisville, KY won the event. Below, Doug Merideth, President of the club, accepts the award, which was donated to a local children's charity.

A new four-wheel drive club in the area took 2nd AND 3rd! The Kentucky Crawlers, from Corbin, fielded 3 teams of 10 people for the competition. Nathaniel Sears, president of the Kentucky Krawlers, accepts the award for 2nd place:
